Games built for the five-minute break
The best thing a phone game can do is fit into the gaps in your day. A quick match while the kettle boils, a level on the bus — that's the natural home of mobile play, and too few games are built for it.
We look for instant resume, clean auto-save, and sessions that end at a satisfying point rather than dumping you mid-action. Big Bass Splash does this well; so does Neon Driftline with its short race format.
The enemy here is the game that demands a long uninterrupted stretch to feel worthwhile. Those exist and some are great, but they belong to a different mood. For breaks, you want pick-up-and-put-down.
Our tip: keep two or three short-session games installed and rotate them. Boredom with one usually just means you need a different flavor, not a new download.
